Do I need to use every part of the platform?

No. Everything works together, but you still can use the parts that are helpful and ignore the rest. Some people may mostly use Future Map. Others may read content, explore tools, or join the community. This is meant to be flexible, not homework.

What can I do for free?

Free access includes core content, Future Map with 2 Quests, community participation, and some tools or resources. Paid access unlocks more of the full experience, including premium learning content, extra features, and member-only perks. The goal is to keep free useful and paid clearly worthwhile, without making the whole thing feel like a trap door.

Paid plans are designed to unlock more depth. That includes extra perks in Future Map like adding images and reorganizing the Quest page, Community badge and option to reply with images, full access to Paths, and way higher limits on everything.

How do I get started?

Start simple. Pick one area of life you want to improve, then choose the part of the platform that matches that need: use Future Map if you want a structured plan use Paths if you want lighter guided learning use Community if you want ideas, encouragement, or perspective You do not need a five-year life plan to begin. One decent starting point is enough.

How do I manage my account or membership?

First, try refreshing the page or signing out and back in (seriously, it's a tech support secret.) If that doesn’t help, contact support with a quick description of what happened and what page you were on. Bonus points if you include a screenshot. We love a screenshot.

What’s the difference between a Quest, Checkpoint, and To-Do?

A Quest is the bigger thing you’re trying to make progress on. A Checkpoint is a meaningful milestone along the way. A To-Do is a smaller action that helps you move forward. A simple way to think about it: Quest = where you’re going Checkpoints = the major stops To-Dos = the next steps that get you there There are other ways to jot down ideas and progress along the way, because it's just as much about the journey. Use your Quest Log for status updates, decisions or wins related to a Quest. Use Snapshots for more general life updates, thoughts, or feelings (call it "journaling" if you must.)

How do I create my first Quest?

Start with one goal you genuinely care about. Then make it specific enough that you could tell whether you’re moving toward it. How many Quests should I work on at once? Focus Space?!

Usually fewer than you think. One to three active Quests is a good starting range for most people. If you pile on too many at once, everything starts to feel important and nothing gets your actual energy. If you’re not sure, start with one main Quest and let yourself win at that first. We'll help keep you honest by showing your Focus Space, so you can make sure to prioritize what's most important. Every goal gets a demand score of 1-3 based on how involved it is, and you have a total focus space of 4. You can still keep track of any ideas or "what's next" by creating Quests for later.

What are check-ins and momentum?

Check-ins are quick progress updates that help you stay connected to your Quest, even if the week was messy. They are not a test, and they are not there to shame you for being a person. In one click you can choose if you're still at it, or a little stuck. A check-in might help you: confirm you’re still working on something note that you’re stuck reset your next step keep momentum from disappearing just because life got loud The goal is not perfect streaks. The goal is staying in contact with your own progress. Any type of updates counts as momentum toward your goal - check-ins are just a small way to show up.

Do I need to set due dates? What happens if I fall behind?

Target dates are optional, but helpful to help you focus and plan. Nothing happens if you fall behind, though (except some reminders from us.) You are allowed to be a human. The best move is to check in on your goal, break it into more pieces if you've felt stuck, and set a new target or pause for now.

Can I use Future Map for small goals, or only big ones?

Both. You can use it for larger goals like a job search, moving, or getting financially stable, but it also works for smaller life systems and practical projects. The best use case is anything that benefits from structure, follow-through, and not having to reinvent the plan every week.

Can I change a Quest after I create it?

Yes. Plans change. Priorities shift. Sometimes the original version of a goal turns out to be fake ambitious nonsense created by your Sunday-night alter ego. You can edit your Quest, adjust Checkpoints, or simplify the plan so it still fits your real life.

Paths are lighter, guided learning experiences around practical topics. Think of them as structured help for learning your way through something, without needing to piece everything together from random tabs and internet chaos. And puh-lease, these are better than those obligatory work trainings.

Future Map is for doing and following through. Paths are more for learning, guidance, and building confidence. You might use a Path to learn the basics of a topic, then use Future Map to turn that into a real plan. They work together (and actually, feel free to "Connect" them together to make things easy.)
